Autumn fun with Little Miss

Hi, I’m Michelle (aka: littlemissmum) and I’m a first-time mum to ‘Little Miss’ – a very active 3-year-old. I live in Market Deeping, a small town just north of Peterborough in England; but I’m originally from New Zealand. I’ve been here 9 years (yikes!), although I only planned on staying 2 years…

Having got those early ‘hell months’ of babyhood out of the way, and getting back to part time work, I decided to start blogging about two of my favourite things: days out and travelling.

What shall we do today?

Whenever I get together with my mummy-friends, we often get to talking about places to go and things to do around our local area. Since Little Miss has come along, I’ve been to so many new places in and around Peterborough. And I’m not just talking about the usual suspects: soft-play, toddler groups and playgrounds. I’ve discovered the Peterborough Museum, Burghley House, Belton House and many more. But so often, websites for these places don’t mention the really important things you want to know when coming with the kids such as: how far away will I have to park, can I bring my own food, can I heat up baby food/bottles, baby changing facilities and so on.

And thus, the idea of Little Miss Adventures was born – a mum’s point a view on the great things to do in and around Peterborough.

And I like to write. . .

I’ve been working in journalism and digital media for the past 15 years, so I have a lot of experience writing – magazine articles, brochures, web articles, blogs, e-newsletters and even an iPhone app. More recently I’ve become fascinated by the world of social media, and do spend (far too much) time on Facebook and Twitter.

If you like what you read, and want to talk more about what I do, please contact me or visit my website michelleboard.co.uk.
