The first part of the new playground at Belton House, near Grantham, is now open. A new tower, climbing frame, swinging bridges, toddler area and more will keep kids and families entertained for hours on a day out.

Hills and Holes near Barnack, Stamford, is an old limestone quarry with undulating hills and hollows; great for running up and down with the kids and also dogs.
Autumn and Halloween fun at at Burghley House this half term. The pumpkin trail runs until Sunday 2 November in the Sculpture Garden.

You’re never to young to get into birdwatching, and the Welney Wetland Centre in Norfolk is the perfect day out to introduce kids to the wonders of nature.
