Anglesey Abbey, near Cambridge, has an amazing woodland area for kids to explore complete with treehouse and den building. A great day out for families with children of all ages.
Burghley House in Stamford is a great place to visit with children. Kids will enjoy a day out, running around in the acres of parkland, or perhaps having a splash about in the Gardens of Surprise.
A new playground inspired by nature has opened at Ferry Meadows by the café/visitor’s centre. The Otter Playground is the first of the three playgrounds at Ferry Meadows to be updated over the next three years.
The Gruffalo is coming to Fineshade Wood to celebrate his 15th birthday. Follow the Gruffalo’s Child trail at Fineshade until the end of February 2015.
At Rutland Water, near Stamford, the whole family can enjoy a bike ride. Hire bikes or take your own – the cycle route is good for a leisurely ride for kids of all ages.
There’s plenty to do on a day out at Fineshade Woods, near Stamford. There are two great playgrounds, buggy-friendly walking trails, bike hire and the Top Lodge Cafe.
